DEEP FRIED SOOJI SWEET BALLS USING LEFT OVER DOSA BATTER / RAWA BURELU / SOUTH INDIAN FESTIVAL RECIPES


HI....These are a very new different sweet recipe for me.....it is a very easy one.but the fermentation of  batter  takes a long time..if you are preparing dosa batter keep separately a bowl of batter to prepare this RAWA BURELU.here the recipe is..check it please......

Ingredients
sooji/rawa-2cups
cashews-10
raisins-10
ghee or butter-5tsps
cardamom powder-1/2tsp
saffron colour- a pinch(optional)
dry coconut powder-1/4cup
salt-a pinch

FOR BATTER
rice-2cups
urad dal-1cup(or)prepared dosa batter
oil-for deep frying
Preparation
wash and soak the rice and urad dal for atleast 6hrs or overnight and grind them into a smooth batter....
fry the rawa in ghee and add dry fruits too.til nice aroma comes..add in sugar,cardamom powder and colour also....
boil the water in a bowl add in rawa mixture to this and stir continuously to avoid forming lumps...
after rawa cooked completely cool it.add coconut powder and make like balls.
now take the rice batter and mix it once..add a pinch of salt to it.....
heat the oil in a kadai.
now  dip the rawa balls in the rice batter and fry in the oil.fry well in the low flame til turns to golden.

  3. totally new recipe to me. the stuffing almost looks like the kesari we make. and i am sure i can spare some idli batter to dip and fry. yummy... thanks for sharing
