BOTTLEGUARD COOTU / SORAKAYA KOOTU /EASY GRAVY RECIPES FOR RICE AND ROTIS

I think that kootu is one of the main dish of tamilians.iam not sure about that..garupale

Coming to the recipe i prefers always bottle gourd curry with milk..but this time i decided to change the dish..i got this Kootu recipe in a recipes book....and i tried it out..Hmmm!!it came out superb..menari
Now Kootu is my one of the favourite dish.iam adding it in my lovely kitchen as a tasty recipe...love

ingredients

bottle gourd-1/2piece
toor dal-1cup
salt-to taste

to grind

black pepper-10
coriander seeds/dhaniya-3tsps
fresh coconut grated-1/2cup

to temper

red chilli-3
urad dal-1tsp
cumin-1tsp
oil-2tsps
curry leaves-1spring


Preparation
peel the skin and chop the bottle gourd into small pieces ....
wash the toor dal and add in pressure cooker along with bottle gourd pieces....
add sufficient water and cook for 2whistles.
grind the Ing under the list and add to the cooked dal..add salt too.
now put the temper in a kadai with the mentioned Ings.add into the gravy..
that`s it..tasty kootu is ready...
tastes good with rice and roti too........
