CURD RICE/DADDOJANAM


Daddojanam or curd rice is the one of the famous prasadam and nivedyam of all temples.rindu they use pure fresh curd.senyumkenyit.It tastes really yummy..adding carrots and milk is depends on your taste...whenever i feel bore kenyitto cook i prefers this..it is very easy to make n tastes good..

Ingredients
cooked rice-2cups
curd-1cup
milk-1/2cup
green chilles-4
curry leaves-1sprig
grated carrot-1/4cup
oil-2tsps
turmeric-1/4tsp(optional)
mustard-1/2tsp
chopped ginger -1tsp
hin/asafoetida-1/8tsp
salt to taste

Preparation
take the cooked rice in a plate and let it cool.
boil the milk and let it cool....to the rice add curd and salt...
after the milk cools add into rice....
now in a kadai heat oil and add mustard,curryleaves,ginger,hing,chillies and turmeric too.....
after the temper cools add into rice...
finally add carrot and cilantro too.refrigerate it for some time and serve cold..
tastes best with mango pickle.....

NOTE
add always fresh and thick curd....not sour onesedih
you can skip the milk and carrot if you dont like...
but it gives the nice and rich taste to the rice.
you can skip the turmeric too.....
You can do this with left over rice too..
