PUMPKIN PAYASAM/KHEER

I never eat the pumpkin when iam in india..senyumkenyitafter coming here i saw this and i tried different recipes like curries,sambar and sweets..omstly brasilians use this in soups and salads....those are very tasty and healthy too......I tried PUMPKIN PAYASAM yesterday..pelukit tastes wonderful..now iam perfect in doing this kheer.sengihnampakgigiand i loved it......
Ingredients
pumpkin paste/puree-1cup
desicated coconut powder-1/2cup
milk-1/2litre
sugar-1cup
cardamom powder-1/2tsp
cashews/raisins/dates-5+5+5
ghee-1/2cup
Preparation
chop the pumpkin into pieces and grind into a smooth paste...
now heat a kadai add in 3tsps of ghee and fry the cashews and raisins....in the same pan fry the grinded paste til nice aroma comes......
in the same pan add again 2tsps of ghee and add coconut powder and fry well.....
now in a fresh pan add in milk and let it boil.....
when the milk starts boiling add in sugar,cardamom powder and coconut powder.......
cook for few minutes.....now add in remaining ghee and mix well....
add in pumpkin paste and mix once.....add in dates tooo.......
when the milk turns to thick off the flame and garnish dry fruits...........
serve hot or cold.......
