LIMA BEANS GRAVY/SIDE DISHES FOR ROTIS N CHAPATHIS



This is the Second Recipe I tried with LIMA BEANS. I never bought  lima beans until i saw in  the super market  MUFFATO ....I really like to try new recipes specially with grains or seeds like PEAS,CHICK PEAS,KIDNEY BEANS,COW PEAS etc....  ......I tried RICE PULAV with half of the beans and remaining  beans I used in this GRAVY..
This is a gravy which you can make within 30 minutes and it`s completely healthy........The ingredients which I used Grinding part  are completely choice......It tastes best with ROTIS.....CHAPATHIS..  ....

INGREDIENTS

LIMA BEANS-2CUPS

TO GRIND

TOMATOES CHOPPED-2 MED SIZE

ONIONS CHOPPED-1BIG
GINGER GARLIC PASTE/GGP-1TSP
COCONUT POWDER-2-3TSPS
CILANTRO LEAVES-1/2CUP
GREEN CHILLI-3
CARDAMOM-3
CLOVES-3-4
CINNAMON-1 INCH STICK
STARANICE-2 SMALL PCS BROKEN
FENNEL SEEDS-1TSP

OTHER SPICES

CHILLI  POWDER-1TSP

SALT-TO TASTE
GARAM MASALA-1TSP
TURMERIC-1TSP
CORIANDER POWDER-1/2TSP
CUMIN POWDER-1/2TSP
FRESH CREAM-2-3TSPS
CURRY LEAVES-1SPRIG
CUMIN-1TSP
HING-2PINCHES
CILANTRO/CORIANDER/KOTTIMERA LEAVES-FEW

HOW TO DO:

Wash and pressure cook lima beans with sufficient water...Drain and keep aside.....

Mix every thing which mentioned above to grind and run mixy.....Make fine paste and keep aside this too.

Now heat vessel or thick bottomed pan and add oil+butter.....Fry cumin,curry leaves,hing and add ground paste.....

Cook this for 5-8 minutes in med-low flame and add spices all like garam masala,chilli powder,salt,turmeric,coriander powder.

Now add in pressure cooked and strained beans and give a good stir........Let it cook for 5 more minutes in low heat....

Once done off flame and  add cream + cilantro.....

Serve with rotis..........Enjoy!!! !!!!
