OATS RICE PULAV/MIXED VEGETABLE RICE OATS PILAF/ AVEIA Y ARROZ CON MISTURA VERDURA /EASY LUNCH BOX IDEAS

Actually I posted this this Recipe pic(1st) in FB n got so many likes..Thank you all those who liked it..As a special of our anniversary I shared PEACH COBBLER N this recipe took place today in blog..

OATS are the one of the protein packed food n can see in every home..Usually I do upma,roti n mostly like to mix in smoothies/shakes.

It`s long time I cooked OATS nowadays n thought to try in new way......On mondays I cook veg pilaf mostly n recently got this Idea of using OATS with rice and veggies..It` a successful hit n I really liked it...Even MAHADEV had it with raita nicely.. This is really very healthy lunch n perfect for lunch boxes too... 

If you are bore to regular oats items try this n I promise definitely you will like this.....

CATEGORY- RICE/VEG/OATS
PREPARATION TIME-30 MINUTES
COOKING TIME-15-20 MINS


WHAT YOU NEED

Rice-2 cups
Oats-1 cup
carrots-2 small
onion-1 small
potato-1small
tomato-1 small
cabbage-1small piece(1cup very finely chpd)
green chilli-4-5
turmeric-1/2tsp
cilantro leaves/kottimeera-1/2cup
mint leaves/pudina-1/2cup
ginger garlic paste/GGP-1tsp

TO TEMPER
Oil-2tsps
mustard-1/2tsp
cumin-1/2tsp
bay leaf-1small
cloves-3
cardamom-2 opened
shahejeera/black cumin-1/2tsp
curry leaves-2 sprigs



HOW TO COOK

Wash  rice twice and soak in water for at least 20 mins...Wash and chop all the veggies into small pieces....

Heat a pan or  woke with oil and ad INGS which mentioned under d TO TEMPER list...Saute for 30 secs or til light brown in colour..

Then add Chopped onions and fry til brown N continue with  green chilli n other veggies like potato,cabbage n finally tomato..

Mix every thing and add enough salt n turmeric n GGP n mix once....cover with lid and let it cook for 5 mins in med-low flame......

Now add drained rice and oats and mix nicely..Then add sufficient water..Add mint n coriander leaves this time....

Check twice about water ration then Cook rice til done......

* To make it easy-I just shift  the whole rice n veg mix into the rice cooker with enough water and it will done automatically.....So,You can go in this way too....

Serve with raita.


MAHAS NOTES

Use Basmati rice if you like..

Use few other veggies like beans,peas,gobi....

Grind mint,green chilli,n coriander leaves n use this  paste..It is the easy way to feed kids.
