TOFU CASHEW MASALA/TOFU IN CASHEW MILK PASTE/Mahas OWN RECIPES


I cook TOFU twice/thrice in a month..I just make it like tofu curry with onions and tomatoes other wise tofu masala means in tomato puree...This time I strongly decided to make some thing new with TOFU.While searching in fridge I got some cashews and decided to use those with TOFU.Finally the result turned into TOFU CASHEW MASALA..
Believe me or not??This is the one of the best gravy which I ever cooked  in my life..It`s simply mind blowing and in  every bite of TOFU you can feel the taste and flavour of cashew..Soaking cashews in milk for a long time gives the best result and it is the main secret of the recipe...PLEASE PLEASE...Next time when you buy some TOFU just try this. Iam sure your family will love this and definitely appreciates you.

Adding shahejeera gives nice flavour.If possicble add full cream milk..After adding tofu don`t stir too much..Always use fresh TOFU..You can skip green chillies.

WHAT YOU NEED

Tofu-1 cube/200 gms
Onions-2 big
Tomatoes-2 big
ginger garlic paste/GGP-1 tsp
red chilli powder-1 tsp
green chilli-2
salt- to taste
garam masala-1 tsp
coriander powder-1/2 tsp
turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
oil-2 tbsps
cloves-3-4
cinnamon stick-1 inch stick
shahejeera/black cumin-1 tsp

PREPARE PASTE WITH

Cashews-12-15
milk-1cup(I used 3% fat milk)


HOW TO COOK

Soak cashews in half cup of milk for 1 hr.soaking for a long time gives best result..I soaked cashews almost 2 hrs..

Grind cashews with milk and keep aside the paste..

Press firmly tofu to remove water then cut into bite size pieces..Keep tofu on a plate and put a lid on top and keep some heavy weight on top for some time.with this method,we can get tofu without water.

Chop and grind  the onions n chillies..and separately tomatoes also...

Now heat oil and add black cumin,cloves,cinnamon and saute for half second.Then add onion- chilli paste and saute til it looses the raw smell....

Continue with tomato paste and cook for 2-3 minutes.....

Throw all spices chilli powder,salt,GGP,turmeric,coriander powder and mix well......When this turning into thick add cashew paste and stir well..

After 2 minutes add Tofu and mix....Add remaining half cup milk and cook for 3 more minutes..

Finally add garam masala and cook for 2 more mins in low flame and off flame..

Serve hot with Rotis/Chapathis..The best combination for ever......
