PALAK CHICKEN/SPINACH CHICKEN/PALAKURA CHICKEN/PALAK SAAG


PALAK CHICKEN-I tried only 2-3 times in the before years..This time when I decided to cook this also strongly decided to take the pictures..I cooked this palak chicken in the evening and while taking pictures DH watching TV n another side he also waiting for dinner..HAHAHA!! So,sweet...I requested for some time then within 10-15 minutes i completed my clicks..Coming to the recipe,Chicken is very comforting food for non-veg lovers and it`s not high in price to buy also.People who love chicken must try this recipe..I think palak combinations works out best..2 days back I posted PALAK PANEER recipe which was a great hit in my kitchen..And,now this one..

See...making of palak chicken is not much difficult...Choosing the INGS is very Important,like for rich green colour you can add some cilantro leaves and spices like cardamom and cloves are must..Also,you can grind along with palak those spices,other wise you can grind them all separately..Some people like to marinate the chicken.So,you can go in that way also..Wash and marinate chicken with salt,turmeric and lemon juice for 15 mns.I skipped this marinating part.Because I used bone less and in small quantity.So,I cooked directly..Adding yogurt is also very Important step in this.But I used milk..Better to use green chillis instead of red chilli powder to retain the colour..Don`t use more garam masala and don`t skip coriander n cumin powders also.Finally serve with hot rotis..the best combination for ever..

WHAT YOU NEED

Boneless Chicken chopped into bite size pcs-250-300gms
palak/spincah paste-1cup
turmeric-1/2 tsp
salt-to taste
chilli powder-1/2 tsp(1/2 tsp more in ur spice lover)
green chillies-5
milk/yogurt-3 tsps
ginger garlic paste-1 tsp
red chilli-1
coriander powder-1/2 tsp
cumin powder-1/2 tsp
onion-1 med size
tomato-1 med size
garam masala-1/2 tsp
oil-3tbsp
cardamom pods-3
cloves-3
cinnamon stick-1inch stick
black cumin-1tsp
fennel seeds -1/2tsp
bay leaf-1



HOW TO MAKE

Heat 1 tsp oil..Add onion,tomato,spinach,,green chillies,GGP,red chilli and cook til mushy. grind into puree after the mix turns  cool..

Heat pan again vth 2 tsps of oil and fry cardamom pods opened,cloves,cinnamon stick,bay leaf,black cumin,fennel seeds then add chicken..Cook for 5 mins..

Now add chilli powder,salt,turmeric,coriander+cumin powders and mix well..

Cook for 10 mins in low flame and add ground palak puree and mix well...

Cook this until chicken done/ turns tender.Now add garam masala,milk(use yogurt) and  mix well.cook for 2 more minutes n off flame...

Serve hot with rotis..
