GREEN COCONUT CHICKEN CURRY/MINT CILANTRO COCONUT CHICKEN/SOUTH INDIAN CHICKEN RECIPES/Mahas OWN RECIPES


HI EVERY ONE...HAPPY WEEKEND...I WISH EACH ONE OF YOU ALL TO SPEND A GREAT SUNDAY WITH LOTS OF FUN AND HAPPINESS.

Coming to the Recipe: I like chicken and love to experiment more than cooking the same old recipes every time..I experiment with  ingredients and leafy veggies or others which are available in fridge and cup board..And also adding cilantro,mint and palak in daily based cooking is really like a fun to me..Chicken which cooked only on coconut base is in my hate list..Not only chicken..I don`t like to add (only//plain)coconut powder in any recipes.I don`t like the flavour and taste of it..While preparing to cook this chicken I chopped mint,cilantro and kept ready other needed ingredients..first thought to grind only leafs to make a green paste.But after seeing coconut in varanda changed the idea and grounded coconut by adding some hot spices instead of using plain..I feel adding fresh ground coconut powder enhance the taste and smells aromatic...

CATEGORY-COCONUT/ CHICKEN/NON VEGETARIAN CURRY/MINT CILANTRO
PREPARATION TIME-15 MNS
COOKING TIME-20 MNS


WHAT YOU NEED

Chicken leg pieces or drum stciks (cubed chicken with bone )-12
onion-1 med size
tomato-1 med size
ginger garlic paste/GGP-1 tsp
salt-to taste

GREEN PASTE
fresh mint leaves-1/4 cup loosely packed
fresh cilantro leaves-1/2 cup loosely packed
green chilies-3(optional)

SPICE POWDERS
turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
garam masala-1/2 tsp
coriander powder-1/2 tsp
chili powder-1 tsp

oil-2-3 tsps
black cumin/shajeera-1 tsp

TO GRIND
coconut powder fresh -1/2 cup
cardamom pods-3
cloves-4
cinnamon stick-small piece
black pepper corns-6 small size
red chili-3
fennel seeds--1 tsp

**{ After grinding this powder I used half of the quantity and remaining one you can see in the pictures}**


PREPARATIONS

Wash chicken thrice times and put some slits on top with a sharp knife..

Wash and chop cilantro ,mint leaves and grind with chilies.(I skipped green chilies and instead used red chili powder for colour)Wash and chop onion and tomato..

 Prepare a powder by adding INGS which mentioned under the TO GRIND and keep aside this.


HOW TO COOK

Heat pressure cook with oil and add saute in black cumin first..

Then onions.fry well those and add  green paste and cook for  2 minutes and then chicken..cook for 3-5 minutes in high flame.

Add in tomato,mix and cook for 1 more minute...

Now throw GGP,salt,chili powder,turmeric and mix every thing.

It`s time to add your ground coconut spice powder..Add half portion of the powder and mix well.

Close with lid and pressure cook for 3 whistles or 10-13  minutes..

Once done remove lid and add garam masala and coriander powder.

Squeeze some fresh lemon juice and serve with white rice or rotis.
