MANGO CUSTARD/FLAN DE MANGA/PUDIM DE MANGA/EASY CHRISTMAS BAKING RECIPES/EASY PARTY DESSERT RECIPES/BRAZIL DESSERTS


HI...Good Morning every one..only 15 days are left for christamas..Even though I studied in christian school never celebrated this festival but enjoyed my school holidays..This is one of the biggest festival in the world and it`s favourite festive for kids too...After moving to brazil I came to know about x-mas much more and attended few times DH friend`s parties too..In that parties, santa claus was special appearance who presents gifts to all..It`s really fun and we enjoyed heartfully..Coming to the menu part usually they serves non vegetarian food like beef,pork and except main courses Panettone and FLAN are the top most desserts ..Panettone  is a special bread which is famous in south american countries especially in brazil...After that Custard.which they calls as FLAN..99% of the restaurants and home parties provides this FLAN in different flavours and condensed milk FLAN is favourite for most of the people...

Last few days back while thinking about desserts remembered this flan recipes and after seeing mangoes in fridge decided to try...Actually making flan is very easy If you are ready with caramel..Even you can purchase store bought caramel to make it more easy..But,here I prepared my own caramel and also  noticed some Important points which to follow while making flan and please check in below..This is my first attempt in life and thank god It came out pretty good..

PREPARATION TIME- 20 MINUTES
COOKING TIME- 35-40 MINUTES



WHAT YOU NEED

Mango Puree-1 cup
eggs-2
condensed milk-1/2 cup
milk-3/4 cup
Sugar-1 cup for caramel
lemon juice-1 tsp


HOW TO COOK

Combine first 4  Ingredients and blend well using mixy jar..

Mix sugar and lemon juice in a thick bottomed vessel and turn on flame.

Start stirring without stopping even a minute until it starts thickening..

**Keep flame in low and use wooden spatula for this process and once the sugar starts melting be careful..

If it looks too hard to mix add around 1-2 tbsp of water and mix again...

Once It starts forming into dark brown/golden  colour syrup stop flame and transfer this carefully into the tin..

 Now pour blended mango puree mixture on caramel syrup..

Now take a large baking tin and fill water up to 1/4 level..

Place the custard filled small cake tin and bake for 30-40 minutes in 200 degree C.


MAHAS NOTES

Actually 1 cup sugar is very heavy for  small tin (which I used here)...What Iam saying is,Use large tin for 1 cup sugar caramel..

Other wise prepare caramel with 1/2 cup sugar only..

This flan tasted well but it was little bit loose in consistency because of adding extra milk.

So,Use 1 or 2 tbsp of corn starch to thicken the mango  mixture before baking.

CARAMEL part is the very Important step for custard and the complete look of FLAN is depended on just caramel..so,Concentrative..

Even If your kids fighting don`t leave the bowl.please....

If your mangoes are not too sweet add 3/4th cup of condensed milk.


WITH REMAINING CARAMEL I PREPARED TWO MORE FLANS..SO,KEEP WATCHING MAHASLOVELYHOME FOR INTERESTING RECIPES
