Iam back.
                          Yes.Iam back with new decisions which are related to MLH(Mahaslovelyhome) Some of you may feel/think surprise after reading this..Ya.I know that.MLH is alive with regular posts,but those all draft posts which i kept in schedule mode..With last post I completed those and started working on my new food/recipes pictures which are waiting in folder..Also,I started taking step wise pictures for each recipe.So,from now you can see the each post with easy helpful step wise pictures..Oh..God..It`s really tough to take step wise pics and Iam not interested to take my canon in kitchen.So,using my samsung phone which HD(hubby darling) gifted..But the problem is I can`t copy the pics to laptop directly.So,posting those pics in FB and again saving them into new folder on desktop..Then it`s going to editing and loading part in Blog..Such a lengthy process.But ,still Iam happy with my work and result and it`s giving a kind of good satisfaction..By the way how you girls do this process and If any one of you know solution to this please let me know.

Coming to the new decisions of MLH, As I promised in my very old post,Iam going to present step wise pics for each recipe,second is,going to introduce innovative combination healthy recipes,traditional cuisine,good pictures and little bit information about the main ingredients of the recipe and finally a good quote to inspire we all..Will try to do every thing how I said and hope you people gives support like this for ever..By the way,MLH page got 426 likes and thank you so much those who liked this page...This is the link of my blog  page.Please go through it to like..


This is a combination of black eyed peas,carrot and toor dal.It`s very healthy,less in spice and those who don`t likes legumes,specially kids can have it happily..You can replace black eyed peas with kidney beans which I do always...Little Boys of my home stands very far to chili powder and for them I tried this dal and served with ghee+rasam... They loved it and said,Mamai,It`s super.....What else you need to approve this as a good recipe..Try this for your kids in less quantity first then see the result..


ABOUT BLACK EYED PEAS:

1.It`s a legume.very good fiber sources and do not contain any cholesterol.
2.This beans are rich in potassium and zinc.
3.This beans contains small amount of natural occurring sodium.However ,because of their other heart-healthy nutrients,these legumes are encouraged for even those cardio vascular disease or high blood pressure.
4.Black eyed beans are also rich source of Iron and contains vitamin-C.
5.In brazil`s north eastern state of Bahia,specially in the city of salavdor,this beans are used in traditional street food of nigerian origin called AKARA.


ABOUT TOOR DAL:

1.Toor dal is a common name and scientifically called as pigeon peas..
2.It contains high levels of protein and amino acids mithionine,iysine and tryptophan.
3.Toor dal contains folic acid and also an excellent source of carbohydrates which your body needs for energy..
4.legumes such as toor dal are a healthy source of dietary fiber,which can help to prevent constipation,and promote regularity.
5.Regularly eating legumes as part of an overall healthy diet can lead to a lower rick of heart disease,stroke,certain cancers,type-2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease.


CATEGORY-LENTILS/LEGUMES/DAL
PREPARATION TIME- 30 MINUTES
COOKING TIME-20 MINUTES



WHAT YOU NEED


Over night soaked black eyed peas-1 cup
carrot-1 
toor dal-3/4 cup
salt-to taste
turmeric powder-1 tsp
ginger garlic paste/GGP-1/2 tbsp
chili powder-for kids-2 tsps (or-as per your taste)

TO TEMPER

oil+ghee-1/2 tbp+1/2 tbsp
mustard seeds-1 tsp
cumin-1 tsp
hing/asafoetida-2-3 pinches
red chili- 2 big
curry leaves-1 sprig
urad dal/1 tsp




HOW TO COOK

Wash dal and soak in water for 20 minutes.Then add in soaked beans and chopped carrot with GGP,turmeric powder,enough water and 1 tsp of oil.

Pressure cook for 3 whistles in medium flame and turn off.

After few minutes open lid and mash dal if you like.(I do this slightly)other wise keep aside.

Then prepare TEMPER with the mentioned ingredients and add in dal.add salt.

Mix well every thing and serve hot with rice and rasam+papad.
