Beet root curd rice/Easy healthy left over rice recipes/New form to regular curd rice by adding beet root/Mahas own recipes/ Step by step pictures


Curd rice is one of the common comfort dish which people prepares often in kicthen..Usually left over rice going to take place in this curd recipe..thick fresh curd gives a nice yumy taste to the dish and adding milk enhances the taste..for a change this time I added some beet root pulp and created this dish..This is same like curd rice but we are adding beet root pulp..I added coarsely ground beets pup instead of grating them,because of soft beets.If you fresh beets which are not too soft you can grate them and use in the recipe.Adding more curd and milk is your choice and always serve little bit cold. after adding beets in rice.better to give some time to incorpoarte it with rice..

WHAT YOU NEED


Beet root grated or coarsely ground-1/2 cup
cooked white rice-1 1/2 cups
salt
boiled milk-1/2 cup
thick fresh curd-1 cup

Oil-1 tbsp
mustard seeds-1 TSP
cumin seeds-1 tsp
urda dal-1 tsp
chana dal-1 tsp
hing-2 pinches
curr leaves-few
dry red chili-3-4


HOW TO COOK

in a bowl take rice and separate it well using a fork or hand..Then add boiled and cool milk,curd,salt..keep aside this for 15 minutes to set.

Now heat a vessel/pan with oil and add all ingredients which mentioned under Oil.Saute well and add beet root pulp.saute for 3-4 minutes by stirring until raw smells out and turn off.

add this into rice and blend it well.Let it sit for 15 minutes and serve.
