CABBAGE CHUTNEY | CHUTNEY RECIPES FOR RICE

 Cabbage chutney/cabbage pachadi is one the nice variation to try with cabbage which goes well with steamed white rice or chapathis..Some people hates cabbage so this pachadi is a very good option to try.Even kids also likes this when you serve with a dollop of ghee.
I prefer to try these types of pachadis so this is one the common recipe which I makes often.Try it and let me know how it turned out for you guys..
Ingredients

shredded white cabbage-3 cups
half onion
turmeric powder-1/2 tea spoon
green chiilies-4-5
salt-to taste
oil-1-2 tbsp
tamarind paste/pulp -1 table spoon

TO TEMPER/POPU| FOR TADKA
oil-1 tbsp
mustard seeds-1 tsp
cumin seeeds -1 tsp
chanadal+urad dal-1 tbsp+1 tbsp
curry leaves-few
dry red chili-2
hing/asafoetida -1/2 tea spoon  

Preparation
1.Heat  oil in a kadai/non stick pan add cabbage and chopped chillies,chopped onion,turmeric powder and salt cook (for 5-8 minutes) until cabbage is soft..If needed add few drops of water.cook it in low flame.stir in between.
2.when the cabbage cooked completely cool it..take it into a mixy jar and grind it coarsely. Its better to grind little bit coarse..
3.now prepare tadka in oil with given ingredients and add in the ground cabbage chutney.
4.cabbage chutney is ready.serve with hot rice. or serve it as side dish with curd rice..
