Oats roasted gram dal murkku/oats dalia murku/spicy south indian deep fried rice flour crackers/oats putnala janthikalu/step by step pictures


This is a simple muruku recipe which is perfect to enjoy at evening time with a cup of time..Here i used oats flour and dalia powder along with other spices.So,it`s new version which snacks lovers must try also comes out nicely..Try it and share your results with us..:)

WHAT YOU NEED

rice flour-2 cups
roasted gram dal flour-1 cup
 (rolled oats/oat meals)oats flour-1/2 cup
salt-to taste
red chili powder-to taste
oil-for deep frying
turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
hing/asafetida-2 pinches
cumin seeds or ajwain-1 tsp


HOW TO COOK

Grind dalia into fine powder and sift it for fine flour..grind rolled oats into fine flour..

In a besan take rice flour,oats flour,dalia flour and add salt,red chili powder,turmeric powder,hing and cumin.

with hot water make it like soft doughHeat 1/2 litre oil in kadai.take some dough mix and place it in muruku maker.

You can squeeze the dough on a plate or any big spoons and gently leave them in hot oil..You can use any kind of murku plate..Here I used star shaped plate.

Here I did n`t cared about shape and directly pressed muruku into oil

Squeeze the murku in oil and and deep fry it.Then remove on a news paper..do it same with all the dough mix in batches..

Serve crunchy crispy muruku with tea or coffee..
