Iam going to share more than 10 mutton recipes in this month.From a long time,Iam thinking to share mutton recipes in MLH,and finally the day came now..So,in the 10 recipes,first one is, this simple mutton pulav..I have shared lone time back another mutton pulav recipe which is a lebanese restaurant style...
On sunday I prefer non-veg and last few days back,was in mood to eat some biryani..But biryani process is bit long and marination is very Important in that...Already,on that day it was around 10 am in the mornig,so there was no time to marinate mutton...then,decided to make some pulav for we couple in small quantity.(My boys eats only white rice ).I have a habit of imaginating about a recipe before going start process..Yes...It`s true..Believe or not!!! I can imagine the result and taste of the recipe while cooking when I imagine about it before starting the procedure...Even,I don`t know how this skill I got it??.   ..Hehehhehe..

So,for this recipe also,first imagined about process and followed according to my taste..Basically,mutton needs lone time to cook,so,first i marinated for some time and then pressure cooked it..Then added soaked rice and shifted every thing into rice cooker..For me,It is easy to cook in rice cooker more than in vessel..Pressure cooking may takes some times other wise,you may need around 1 hour to finish this recipe if the all ingredients are in hand.I loved the final texture of rice and taste of the mutton too..Marinating gives a best result,so rest it for few more hours after marinating.Try this sunday if you an option and enjoy when it`s hot...

WHAT YOU NEED 

TO MARINATE MUTTON

Mutton chopped pieces with bone- 400 grams
red chili powder-to taste
salt
garam masala-1 tsp
coriander+cumin powders-1 tsp+1 tsp
ginger garlic paste-1 tbsp
yogurt-1/3 cup

basmati rice- 1cup
onion-1 big
tomato-1 big (optional)
mint+coriander leaves-1+1 cups

Oil-3-4 tbsp
cumin-1 tsp
cinnakon stick-1 small
cloves-4
cardamom-1 big




HOW TO COOK 

Wash and soak rice for 30 minutes..wash mutton 2-3 times and take all the ingredients,which given under "to marinate" in a bowl and add mutton...Mix well and let it aisde for 1 hour..If you have time can leave for some more hours..


Then turn on pressure cooker with oil and saute whole spices for a minute..Then add chopped onions and fry til brown..


Then add marinated mutton and mix..After 2-3 minutes add chopped tomato and add 1/2 cup water..Pressure cook for 30 minutes..It depends on size of mutton piece and if it is goat meat may takes more time and if it is lamb meat (tender meat) may takes less time..


Check out,If the mutton is cooked well or not..Then,take mutton curry in rice cooker bowl and add rice+enough water..Throw in cilantro+mint leaves and mix well


Put this in rice cooker and let it cook automatically..Once,when the rice is done,serve hot with raita,onion slices n lemon wedge..




MAHAS NOTES 

Cooking mutton perfectly is important..Then only proceed for rice..

Don`t miss cilantro+mint leaves ..

I don`t measure water to cook rice..So,please be careful while adding..Other wise rice may turns mushy..

You can add vegetables to make it healthy..But,chop in big size and then pressure cook them along with mutton.

If you want,after pressure cooking mutton can add rice in that , with right amount water and cook in pressure cooker.

Or If you like,can shift cooked mutton curry into pan and add soaked rice+water and cook..

What ever the way,you follow,it`s important to balance the water level to cook rice finely..you can see my images,how rice/pulav turned even without measuring water..
