Like paneer we don`t get tofu  in super markets...Need to go few particular places to buy it..So,it is the reason behind don` sharing enough recipes in MLH,though I have recipes in mind..Last few weeks back,we couple went for my checkup,on the way along with few items,bought tofu..I want to add some easy recipes with tofu.So,this time,i successed...Prepared 3 recipes..This tofu biryani is in one of them.Soon,will share other recipes too..


CATEGORY-TOFU INDIAN RECIPES/VEGAN DUM BIRYANI RECIPES
PREPARATION TIME- 30 MINUTES
COOKING TIME- 30 MINUTES


WHAT YOU NEED
Tofu-1/2 cube or 200 grams basmati rice- 1cup
onion-1 big
carrot-1 big
french beans- 3
mint+coriander leaves-1+1 cups

salt
red chili powder
warm milk-1/3 cup + 2pinches of food color
cumin+coriander powders- 1+1 tsp
chat masala-1/2 tsp
garam masala-1 tsp
turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
ginger garic paste/GGP- 1 tsp
cilanto+mint leaves fresh chopped-  few for garnish 
Oil-2 tbsp
cumin-1 tsp
cloves-2
mustard seeds-1 tsp
cinnamon stick-1 inch
fennel seeds-1 tsp




HOW TO COOK

Wash rice and soak for 30 minutes then cook n keep aside..Press tofu to remove excess of water and cut into pieces..

Take little bit of red chili powder,salt,chat masala,turmeric powder and mix well and place tofu piecesmix carefull.. let it aisde for 10-15 minutes..If you have time can leave for some more hours.. 

Then turn on pan or pressure cooker with oil and saute whole spices for a minute..Then add chopped onions and fry til brown.. Add GGP, choped carrots,beans..Throw salt and cook til veggies soft..

Add in all spice powders and mint+coriander leaves +tofu .Mix carefully and cook for 5 -8 mintues in medium flame.Then on top spread cooked rice.

Spread some mint,cilantro leaves, milk and close with lid.Now put tawa or dosa pan on flame and keep this pan on top and cook for 10 minutes in low flame.

turn off and serve hot with raita/curd/gravy/pickle/salad.
