Potato Bonda | Aloo Bonda | Urulaikizhangu Bonda | Quick and easy Vegetarian deep fried evening snacks for kids | Deep fried spicy potato balls




surprised This is a very old recipe,but re posting with new pictures..Recently I have started using potato often in my kitchen,but never tried any thing deep fried fritters like this except potato bajji..Specially,for pictures I cooked this again and really liked the taste and texture of the bonda.Because of digestion problem of oily foods,
I don`t prefer deep fried foods much,but if you are a true lover of this kind of bajjis or bondas you must try this recipe.Also,potato lovers must try this delicious bonda recipe at least once ..senyumkenyit



Ingredients

potatoes-2 big size
onion-1 small
garam masala powder-1 tsp
ginger garlic paste/GGP-1 tsp
salt-to taste
red chilli powder-2 tsps (or you can use 3 green chili)
oil-2 tbsp  + for deep fry

gram flour-1  cup
rice flour-2 tbsp
baking soda-a pinch
water-as needed
salt-little bit
red chilli powder-2-3 pinches (to taste)


Preparation

1.boil potatoes and peel skin.mash well and keep it aside.chop onions finely

2.in a pan add oil fry the onions well.add mashed potatoes,salt,chilli powder,GGP and garam masala mix it well.cook for 1 minute and off the flame.

3.let this cool down.divide this into equal portions and divide into equal size balls.

4.now the batter preparation:

in the gram flour add rice flour little bit of salt,chilli powder,and soda along with water and make it like a smooth batter out of it. it should not be too thick or too liquid type.

5.Now heat  oil in a kadai for deep frying.when the oil is hot, dip potato balls in flour batter and deep fry in oil in medium flame until turns golden on top.Flip in between to cook from all sides.

serve hot with coconut or peanut chutney.tastes good with both chutneys........... ketukmeje



In the left over flour batter,I added boiled broccoli florets and deep fried later..Can we call broccoli bajji!!!
