Though quinoa is frequently available here in foz,never tried to use it..But,recently after starting thinking about weight loss,searched about quinoa in google. Immediately,googled about recipes and this is the first one which I tried out..Soon,will share few more recipes too..Coming to this recipe,it is a low calorie vegetable pulav which is guilt free to enjoy instead of rice..
If quinoa is available  in your places,don`t do late..Get it and try healthy this recipe..Enjoy hot always with your favorite side dish like pickle,raita or any vegetable fry .

PREPARATION TIME- 30 MINUTES
COOKING TIME- 20 MINUTES


WHAT YOU NEED

quinoa-1/2 cup
onion-1 small
potato-1small
tomato-1 small
green chili-4-5
ginger garlic paste/GGP-2 tsp
french beans-3-4
green peas-1/2 cup (I used frozen)
biryani masala powder-1 tsp (or garam masala)
salt -to taste

To temper
Oil-2 tbsp
mustard seeds-1 tsp
cumin seeds-1 tsp
cloves-3
cinnamon stick-1 inch
cardamom pod-1
cilantro+mint leaves-hand ful


HOW TO COOK

Wash quinoa  2-3 times and soak in water for 20 minutes..Now in a vessel heat 1 cup of water,while boiling add quinoa and cook until quinoa turns soft..

Heat a pan with oil and saute ingredients which mentioned under to temper for a minute.Throw onions+GGP and cook soft..Then add remaining chopped veggies,green chili,salt and cook for 4-5 minutes..

Now add in 3/4th -1 cup of water (I adds approximately.please,as per your choice add water) and let it boil.Add in biryani masala and then add cooked quinoa and mix every thing well.

Add in cilantro+mint leaves and cook until done..Turn off and serve hot with any pickle and raita


MAHAS NOTES

You can use any vegetables of your choice..

Add fistful of almonds or cashews for rich taste.

Along with oil add 1 tbsp ghee for rich taste..

Mint+cilantro leaves gives a good flavor to the dish.So,don`t skip..
