Pumpkin Raita | Gummadi Kaya Perugu Pachadi | Pumpkin In Spiced Yogurt | Quick And Easy Curd Raita Recipes For Rice,Rotis and Chapathi


Perugu pachadi or curd raita is my favorite to have with rice always.So,this is an another recipe with pumpkin which i have created..It is a simple curd raita with fried grated pumpkin..See..few MLH recipes may looks simple,but tastes really if you try.Basically every woman wants to cook with less ingredients in short time instead of spending hours all the days in kitchen.
Ok.I agree for special occassions ,in festival times,on hoildays trying new recipes is another matter.But,in these busy days,specially for working women this kind of easy recipes are very helpful..Trying new recipes is my weakeness..Hhehehee..this is sounding silly...But it`s true...After buying pumpkin my mind started thinking about new recipes.Have tried curry,pulusu and this raita too.Frying grated pumpkin gives a nice taste to the raita and grating is my choice which takes less time..So,next time try this easy,tasty raita and enjoy with any white rice/pulao/biryani.

COOKING TIME- 15 MINUTES



WHAT YOU NEED

Pumpkin-grated – 1 cup (peel skin first)
Fresh Coconut powder– 2 tbsp (optional)
Curd – 2 cups
Green Chilies – 3-4 Or to taste
Ginger – 1/2"Piece or ginger garlic paste-1/2 tsp
Curry Leaves – Few (I skipped)
Salt -To Taste
Turmeric Powder – 1/4 tsp

Oil-1 tbsp
Bengal Gram – 2 tsps
Black Gram/Urad dal – 2 tsps
Mustard Seeds – 1 tsp
Cumin Seeds – 1 tsp
Asafoetida/hing – A Pinch
dry red chili-5 (if you don`t use green chili)



HOW TO COOK

1) Add in 1/2 cup of water if you like and beat curd well.Take a small size of Pumpkin and peel it , grate it finely.add this to curd along with salt and coconut powder..

2) put a small pan or tadka pan on the stove add oil,throw in  urad dal, musterd seeds,ginger or GGP, curry leaves,cumin,hing,red chili and saute for few seconds.Throw in Pumpkin-grated  and saute for 5 minutes in low flame.then add in curd mixture and mix gently.Add some cilantro leaves if you have. Serve with rice and also tastes good with rotis.
