Soya chunks biriyani | Meal Maker Biryani | Soya Nuggets Biryani in Dum Method | Soya chunks recipes | Easy biriyani recipes with step by step pictures

Biryanis are my favorite,specially I love dum biryanis..The aroma when you put it in dum is always very delicious..Being a non vegetarian loves chicken biryani actually and often cooks vegetarian pulao recipes in weekdays..Though soya chunks are available here,very rarely I pick ups the packets..I came to know that my hubby don`t likes soya so,never got a chance to try new varieties..
But ,few days back in regular grocery shopping bought a packet to try some recipes...Yeah..I don`t have any objections with Meal maker.So,tried few recipes like biryani,soya chunks peas curry,soya chunks masala and soya chunks pepper rice too. Soon will share one by one..

Coming to this,it`s a simple biryani recipe, which cooked in dum method..In the recipe,I added coconut milk which gives a nice flavor and rich taste to the biryani..It does n`t takes much time to prepare even can have this meals with simple raita or curd. Try it next time and enjoy..:)



CATEGORY- BIRYANI/LUNCH/VEGETARIAN/RICE RECIPES

PREPARATION TIME-20 MINUTES
COOKING TIME- 30 MINUTES



WHAT YOU NEED

1.Rice-2 cups
2.Meal maker/soya chunks-1 cup
3.Green chillies-2-3 (optional)
4.Onion chopped-1
5.coconut milk-1/2 cup
6.Ginger garlic paste/GGP-1 tsp
7.Pudina/mint leaves-handful
8.Cilantro leaves-handful
9.Salt to taste
10.Red chilli powder-to taste
11.turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
12.garam masala-1 tsp
13.oil-2 tbsp
14.cinnamon stick,Black cloves,Cardamom,cumin
15.Ghee- 1 tsp
15.orange color+ 2 tbsp milk or water



Preparation:

1.wash rice twice and soak in water for 30 minutes.Then cook in medium flame until done.90% is fine..Take a pan pour oil and heat it.Add all whole garam masala ingredients and saute for few seconds.Add green chillies,onion chopped 1/2 cup,ginger garlic paste and mix well,Fry for few minutes till raw smell goes off.

2.Add soya chunks,salt,chopped tomato and mix well,cover and cook for 5 minutes.Add in all spice powders and cook for 5 more minutes again.Add in coconut milk and mix nicely..Cook for 10 more minutes in low flame.


3.Now take the cooked rice on top of soya chunks masala and arrange like a layer.Spread it evenly ,throw in mint leaves,cilantro leaves ..Also,mix food color in warm milk and pour it on top of the rice.Cover with lid tightly and cook in dum method (put a tawa or thick pan and put this biryani bowl) for 10 minutes in low flame.
