Few words about u/some thing special which we don`t know??

Hi all,I am Malar from Malar’s Kitchen. Basically a software professional, currently a home maker. Life was totally busy in the starting years of my career and that took a ride over my health which is when I realized eating healthy and proper exercising helps us to be fit. So I started cooking myself and tried making things healthy. My hubby asked why don’t you start a blog and came up with a blog.

Food photography tips or  3 useful kitchen tips??

I am still learning photography, so I would go with kitchen tips…

Always assemble items before cooking.

Eat brown basmathi rice for day to day they are extremely rich in nutrients. Soak it before cooking to get soft rice.

Soaking dal before cooking enhances flavor.

How to improve fans n followers for food blog n food blog face book page??

First and foremost is the quality content, as content is the king. Write clear recipes. A good photograph is the gateway to the blog. Play around take lots of picture and adjust settings. Interact with other bloggers.Facebook page fans I am yet to explore it myself.

How the blog has changed your life and how many blog posts you do a month.

Blogging is such a pleasure and when someone gets back saying your recipe worked so well and we loved it in our family, there are no words to explain such an elated feeling. I have got some wonderful friends through blogging. Sometimes blogging has helped me increase my patience level too.

Finally, tell me few words abt MLH??

I am quite a new blogger compared to Usha . MLH has wide variety of recipes including veg, non veg.She has a great blog and she inspires all other bloggers.

Over all it`s a impressive chit chat really..sharp and straight answers.. I likes the tips really, specially first one, applies for me strongly.assembling every thing before cooking is one of the important point to learn,it saves times,no much confusion too.. :)

When Usha asked me for a guest post, I was so glad and accepted it. As she has wide variety of recipes, I was a little confused on what recipe should I give her, as always I wanted it to be healthy. I came up with a list and she gladly accepted. It is so overwhelming to find such a wonderful guest post section for her 3yrs anniversary of blogging. Thanks for giving me an opportunity Usha .

So here is Samai Upma or Little Millet Upma.

Millets have a lot of health benefits and they can be prepared similar to Rava. They are gluten free as well.

Ingredients: (Serves 2)

Little Millet/Samai : 1 ½ cup

Onion : ¼ of a large

Green Chili : 2 (adjust according to your taste buds)

Ginger : ½ inch piece grated

Mixed Veggies : ½ cup ( I have used frozen, you can use fresh veggies)

Salt : as needed

Water : 4 1/2 cups ( 1 cup samai requires 3 cups water)

Oil : 1 ½ teaspoon

Mustard Seeds : ¼ teaspoon

Urad Dal : ¼ teaspoon

Channa Dal : 1.4 teaspoon

Curry Leaves: Few

Cilantro : to garnish

Method:

Soak Samai/Little Millet in water for half an hour. Drain and set aside.Chop onions, green chilies.Heat oil in a pan, when hot add mustard seeds, urad dal, channa dal.

When they turn golden brown, add curry leaves.Next add onion, green chili and saute till translucent. Now add the frozen veggies, saute till half done. Frozen cooks faster than fresh.

Next add water and let it boil. Add salt to it.When it hot enough, add the drained samai and mix well.Cover with a lid and cook till soft and water gets dehydrated.Garnish with chopped cilantro leaves.Serve with any chutney.

It`s a beautiful recipe which you shared with us Malar..Iam happy that you spent time to think about recipe and gifted us a healthy break fast dish for us..Though Upma is quite common in our indian kitchen, making with this kind of protein packed millets is a very good idea..Wish I can grab this cute bowl...Hope I find all the millets here in my place too..

Once again Heartful Thanks dear for accepting the invitation..Wish you all the best in blogging and personal life. :) :) :)
