Gobi Dum Pulao | Dum Gobi Pulao | Cauli flower Pulao | Quick and easy Vegetarian Pulao recipes for lunch


This is gobi pulao (cauli flower pilaf) recipe which i cooked few days back for lunch...The special of this dish is,I took gobi as a main vegetable..Means a rice dish with cauli flower..Yes..After knowing the value of of vegetables I have started cooking almost all the vegetables which are available in my place. cauli flower is one of the common veggie which I can see the whole in super markets..
In the starting used to cook only curries gravies some times which can serve with roti for dinner time.But,after trying out Gobi masala rice I was impressed with the dish so,created this pulao with the basic idea.Here in this particular pulao recipe,marinating gobi is very important before starting the process which gives a wonderful taste.If you like with teh same recipe can create/cook biryani version in dum method..only thing which you need to do is cook rice separately and cook the gobi first then layer the rice on top.cook in dum method for 10-15 minutes in low flame by putting biryani vessel on tawa/pan.In this recipe,I missed step wise pictures ,but soon,will update the images in the post surely..Til now check out this and enjoy :)

PREPARATION TIME- 30 MINUTES
MARINATION TIME-1 HOUR
COOKING TIME-30 MINUTES

WHAT YOU NEED

TO MARINATE GOBI
cauliflower- 1 very small or half 
curd-3 tbsp 
red chili powder- to taste 
salt- to taste 
turmeric powder-1/2 tsp 
garm masala-1 tsp 
cumin powder-1/2 tsp
 coriander powder -1/2 tsp
oil-1 tsp
ginger garlic paste (GGP)- 1 tsp
 mint or cilantro leaves-few (1/2 cup)

To Cook Pulao
 oil-1 tbsp +ghee-1 tbsp
cumin seeds-1 tsp 
bay leaf-1 small 
cloves-2 
green cardamom pod-1 
onions-1 medium size
tomato-1 big (optional)
normal rice OR (basmati)- 1 cup 
 mint +cilantro leaves-few (1/2 cup)
 red chili powder+salt- to taste (optional) 
green chili-2-3 (optional) 


HOW TO COOK

Wash and cut gobi into small flowers..In a mixing bowl take in curd,red chili powder,salt,turmeric powder,garm masala,cumin,coriander powders,oil,ginger garlic paste,mint,cilantro leaves and mix well.now add in cauliflower florets gently mix and rest it for 1 hour minimum or 30 minutes at least. 

Now heat a non stick woke/vessel add oil+ghee.Saute cumin,bay leaf,cloves,green cardamom pod.Then fry onions,ginger garlic paste...Now add in tomato,green chili and saute for a minute.Put marinated gobi and cook in low flame for 10 minutes until gobi turns soft..Add red chili powder,salt  if you want again for more spice

Now add soaked rice and mix well in the mixture.. Add in mint+cilantro leaves if you have and then enough water...Stir to combine every thing well and cook for 15 minutes in medium flame or until rice done.. Turn off and serve hot with curd or raita..
