MOONG DAL LEMON RASAM | QUICK AND EASY RASAM/CHARU RECIPES


As i mentioned in my other post my hubby cant complete his lunch without rasam.doing always asual rasam varities iam feeling bore.tensionthen i got an idea.why cant i use lemon juice instead of tamarind paste in the rasam.yes!it was clicked.prepared this simple lemon chaaru.it is one of the comforting dish to serve with rice and quick to cook also.
Ingredients
green gram or moong dal-1/2 cup
lemon juice-1 tbsps
salt-to taste
cilantro-to garnish

TO TEMPER
ghee-1tbsp
cumin-1 tsp
mustard seeds-1tsp
fenugreek seeds-1/2tsp
green chillies-3
curry leaves-few
hing or asafoetida-a pinch

Preparation
1.cook dal with little water in the pressure cooker for 1-2 whistles.it should be like a paste.after pressure cooking you can grind it in a mixy.
2.heat a kadai add ghee and add Ingredients which given under "to temper" one by one to pan.pour the dal mixture and let it boil for few minutes.
3.for the rasam consistency you can add some more water. i added 1 glass.
4.off the flame and add the fresh lemon juice.don`t add while boiling.it will turns to bitter in taste.takbole
5.lemon chaaru or rasam whatever it is.ready.serve with hot rice.
6.its very simple right!!!!!but tastes great.........
