Most of the days,rotis takes place in our dinner time...So,for a pair every time I tries different curries,gravies.Lima beans are available easily here in all the super markets..So,quite often I pick ups a packet,to try new dishes every time..This is the one of the nice korma recipe which I have tried recently...Korma means where we use coconut,khus khus paste/mixture as the base..It gives a rich look,taste and gravy consistency to the korma. I Prefers mostly my very own ideas to cook..So,this recipe also one of my creation.It tastes mild spice and tasty when you serve with rotis or chapathis..Try it next time and share your results... :)
PREPARATION TIME- 15 MINUTES
COOKING TIME- 30 MINUTES
WHAT YOU NEED
dried lima beans/butter beans-1 cup
onions-1 medium size
GGP/ginger garlic paste-1/2 tsp
dry red chili-1
red chili powder-1 tsp
turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
coriander powder-1/2 tsp
garam masala -1/2 tsp
For Masala Paste
Coconut-1/3 cup pieces
poppy seeds/khus khus/gasagasalu-1 tbsp
HOW TO COOK
Wash lima beans 2 times,soak over night.next day morning pressure cook for 3 whistles. soak khus khus in 2 tbsp water for 10 minutes.Along with coconut+cashews grind into fine paste.
Turn on heat under a non stick pan.pour oil,saute cumin seeds,red chili,cloves. Throw in chopped onions,GGP and fry for half minute.
Now add in chopped tomato and cook for a minute or until it turns into mushy..Now add ground coconut paste and mix well, cook for 2 minutes and all spice powders and mix well..Then,add in 1/2 cup of water..Mix well and cook for 5 minutes in medium flame.
Now add pressure cooked lima beans,stir well..Close with lid,cook for 10 minutes in low flame..Add in coriander powder,garam masala combine well..Turn off after 2 minutes and throw some freshly chopped coriander leaves..
