Phool Makhana or lotus seeds are flavor less,light in calories,can make various recipes like gravies,sweets.. I love lotus seeds lot,also cooked few recipes too..Specially Phool makhana kheer tastes very delicious..Also,Phool makhana masala tastes great with hot rotis or chapathis any time. This time I cooked this new gravy which is very tasty..
Here I used coconut milk which gives a rich taste and flavor to the gravy..When you are in hurry to cook or if you don`t have any vegetables in hand better to try this kind of easy gravies and serve hot with pulkas.

WHAT YOU NEED

phool makhana/ lotus seeds- 2 cups
onion-1 big
ginger garlci paste/GGP-1 tsp
tomato puree-1/2 cup
coconut milk- 1/2 cup
garam masala- 1tsp
 kasoori methi leaves-1 tbsp
red chili powder-1 tsp
salt- to taste
turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
oil- 1-2 tbsp
cumin seeds- 1 tsp
cinnamon stick - 1 inch
cloves-2
green cardamom pod-1
chopped cilantro leaves-few





HOW TO COOK

Heat a non stick pan with oil.Throw in cumin seeds,cinnamon stick,cloves,cardamom pod..After few seconds throw in chopped onion,GGP and saute for 2 minutes..

Add in tomato puree and mix well.After a minute add in chili powder,salt,turmeric powder.Mix and cook for 2-3 minutes..

Now add coconut milk and mix nicely..Cook for 5 minutes in medium flame..Mean while in another pan add a tbsp of oil and roast lotus seeds for 2 minutes..Then add in gravy..Let it cook for 5 minutes in medium flame.add in kasoori methi+garam masala and stir well. After 2-3 minutes turn off and add in chopped cilantro leaves.
