Though I have baked lots of chocolate cakes,cup cakes till now,this recipe is in my mind from a long time..Finally,clapping hands after baking this perfect pound cake...Chocolate Pound Cake is moist,rich and buttery with chocolate flavor. This cake does n`t need any frosting.
Good brand of cocoa powder gives a nice chocolate flavor to the cake . When adding the cocoa powder to the cake batter,using boiling water in the recipe is the main step which bring out its full flavor. You can also Dutch-processed cocoa powder. But, I used unsweetened cocoa powder. Just like chocolate, each brand of Dutch processed or natural cocoa powder has its own unique flavor which will affect the flavor of the cake.So, for the rich color,look,taste use best quality of cocoa..Also,eggs plays a main role in the recipe..The addition of the butter, keeps the cake soft even when refrigerated. Totally,this pound cake is awesome with great chocolate flavor, a deliciously soft and moist texture.

WHAT YOU NEED
1/4 cup - unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 cup - hot water
1 1/2 cups - all purpose flour (Can use wheat flour)
1 teaspoon - baking powder
1/4 teaspoon - salt
1 cup (226 grams) un salted butter, room temperature
1 cup (200 grams) granulated white sugar
3 large eggs, room temperature (i used 2 big eggs)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
HOW TO BAKE
Preheat oven at 180 degree C.
In a mixing bowl beat butter until smooth ,add sugar..Beat until smooth and soft..
Fold in cocoa,vanilla, eggs mix well..Now baking powder and wheat flour...Finally, give a good mix until flour combines..
apply oil or butter in a cake tin,dust it with flour in all sides..Now pour the cake batter and bake for 40-45 minutes..
Check out with tooth pick,if it comes out clean turn off and let it cool.
Serve a slice with hot milk or coffee..:)
