kasoori methi chicken | easy south indian chicken curries | spicy chicken curry recipes for roti | Simple chicken curries for rice and chapathi


This is a simple spicy chicken curry which goes well with rice or rotis.. The difference between this curry with other curries is here kasoori methi,which is playing the main role.  

Fenugreek/Methi is very common in Indian cooking. The 
leaves are used as herbs. the fresh leaves are cooked  and the dried leaves which are popularly known as Kasoori methi

PREPARATION TIME- 20 MINUTES

COOKING TIME- 30 MINUTES

WHAT YOU NEED

chicken with bones -1/2 kg

red chili powder- 2 tsp (to taste)
salt -to taste
turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
ginger garlic paste-1 tbsp
kasoori methi-3 -4 tbsp
oil-2 tbsp
cumin seeds-1 tsp
cloves-3
cinnamon stick-1 inch
onions-1 big size
tomato puree-1/3 cup
 curd -1/3 cup
 garam masala powder-1 tsp
coriander powder-1/2 tsp
chopped fresh cilantro leaves-handful

HOW TO COOK



Marinate chicken with red chili powder,salt, turmeric powder,ginger garlic paste,kasoori methi (1 tbsp),oil for over night or at least 2 hours..
Heat oil in pressure cooker.crackle,cumin, cloves,cinnamon stick..Saute chopped onions well..Then add in marinated chicken and fold in well..After 5 minutes tomato puree and mix well..
Mean while rinse kasoori methi (1tbsp) once, throw in chicken.If you want add 2 more tbsp kasoori methi..Then after 5 minutes,add in curd and mix well..Pressure cook for 25-30 minutes... Finally,after cooking,add garam masala powder,coriander powder+cilantro leaves..Mix well.Serve hot with rice,roti..
