Paneer Do Pyaza is a wonderful dish that can be served with any variety of rice such as plain steamed rice or fried rice, roti, naan or parathas. This is a very popular dish served in most of the restaurants and dhabas.
It has amazing aromatic flavours from onions, spices, bell pepper and tomato gravy, kasuri methi and dash of cream that is added to the last to give a creamy and rich appearance besides delicious taste. Traditionally the style of cooking paneer do pyaza has its influence from the Mughlai cuisine and is said to be a vegetarian adaption of the popular non vegetarian dish, Chicken Do Pyaza. Overall,it is a simple dish with onions..In this,if you like can lightly fry the paneer and add in mildly spiced, creamy onion based gravy.

WHAT YOU NEED

oil -4 table spoons
shahi jeera -1 tea spoon
 onions -2 medium size
 salt - to taste
 turmeric powder-1/2 tea spoon
ginger garlic paste -1 tea spoon
yellow bell pepper - 1 small
 Tomatoes -2 big
kasoori methi powder - 1 tea spoon
green cardamom -1 
 paneer/ricotta cheese -200 grams
cream -2 table spoons
red chilli powder-to taste/2 tea spoons
salt-as per your taste
cumin powder-1/2 tea spoon
coriander powder-1/2 tea spoon
 coriander leaves-few 
cream-1 table spoon


HOW TO COOK

 Chop paneer in cube size pieces. Heat a pan add table spoon oil, fry the paneer both sides for 3-4 minutes in medium flame and remove on a plate.Now add yellow bell pepper, tomatoes and cook for 5 minutes.let it cool and grind into paste using mixy jar.

Now heat a pan/vessel again with 2 table spoons oil,add  shahi jeera,cloves,green cardamom, chopped onions, ginger garlic paste and salt.Cook for 1 minute and add ground paste. 

Then add turmeric, red chilli powder, salt,water and cook it in a low flame. Now add finely chopped onions, fried paneer cubes and mix well.Cook for 5 minutes in low flame.

 Then add kasoori methi powder,cumin powder,coriander powder. Lastly add chopped coriander leaves and cook for  5 minutes in medium flame. Paneer pyaza is ready garnish with a cream and serve hot with roti.
