Sooji Halwa is a south indian traditional sweet which we people makes often on festival times and functions.I have already posted sooji halwa and recently posted sooji coconut halwa recipe in blog.Coming to this it is a sweet made of wheat semolina,jaggery with milk..
Wheat rava is nothing but Daliya or Broken wheat or Doddu rava in telugu More than the fine sooji rava halwa,this is very healthy.It is simple to cook yet delicious and ummy..Addition of jaggery,milk and fried nuts gives a nice taste. Its also popularly known as Kesari in the south region and Sheera in the northern region of India. Try this wheat rava halwa and enjoy!!




Halwa Recipes


CATEGORY- Halwa | Broken Wheat | Daliya Halwa
PREPARATION TIME- 10 MINUTES
COOKING TIME- 15 MINUTES



WHAT YOU NEED
2 table spoons Butter/Ghee
Few Mixed nuts and raisins
1 cup Sooji/ Rava/Semolina 

1 tea spoon cardamom powder
1 cup jaggery/bellam
1/2 cup Water 

1 cup milk



HOW TO COOK

Melt butter in a heavybottomed pan.Add nuts and then raisins and roast until very lightly colored and the raisins swell.Now add sooji and roast on low flame heat until lightly colored and fragrant.Add water and increase heat to meduim-When most of the water is absorbed, add 
milk and mix well..Cook until rava turns soft and add jaggery.Stir every thing and cook in low flame for 5 minutes.Add cardamom powder, stir in gently and cover with a lid-Cover and rest for a few minutes before serving.
