Wheat rava is very healthy and rich in proteins..It is a very good substitute for rice because rava is low in carbohydrates.I brought it from india and cooks usually upma for dinner. Cooking same old upma I felt bored so started trying diffe-rent recipes with daliya..
Daliya is very good food for diabetic people specially..I prefer this kind of upmas for dinner times generally but you can cook this for break fast instead of repe-ating same old idli or dosas..I have used toor dal instead of moong dal which I don`t have..So,use moong dal if you have and adding lots of vegetables is very healthy really..Adding vegetables or skipping some veggies is your choice but I sug-gest to add all..Over all,it`s a very healthy and tasty upma for every one..Try it and let me know how it tasted..

WHAT YOU NEED
• Wheat Rava ( Sooji ) 2 Cup
  Toor dal (kandi pappu)-1/2 cup
• Green Peas 1/2 Cup
• Chopped Carrot 1/2 Cup
• Chopped Beans 1/2 Cup  Chopped green capsicum-1/2 cup
  Chopped potato-1 small
  Cauliflower florets-1/2 cup
  Frozen green peas-1/2 cup
• Red Chillies 3-5 Numbers
• salt-To Taste
• Butter-1 Tablespoons
• Chopped Onion-1/2 Cup
• oil -2 Table spoons
• Curry leaves-few
  Mustard seeds-1 tea spoon
  Cumin seeds-1 tea spoon
  Chana dal-1 tea spoon
  Urad dal-1 tea spoon
HOW TO COOK
Heat A vessel or non stick pan with oil.. To this add the Mustard seeds,cumin seeds,chana dal,urad dal and allow to split,followed by curry leaves,red chillies, ginger garlic paste,chopped onion and fry for a minute. Then add the chopped vege tables and fry for 3 more minutes, to this add 4 and 1/4 cups water ,salt and allow it to boil. To the boiling mixture add sooji and soaked dal with constant stirring in low flame. Put it in medium flame for 5 minutes,then keep it in low flame and cook till done. May be about 10 minutes in low flame.Serve hot with Chutney and Curd.
