Hara Masala Chicken Biriyani | Green Masala Murgh Dum Biryani | Hariyali Chicken Biriyani | Easy Chicken Dum Biryani Recipes

This is the biriyani which I have cooked according to my very own idea..I have posted hara masala pulao which is vegetarian version and hara masala semiya pulao which are own creations.. But before this recipes I have already posted hara masala chicken pulao very long time back,so with all these recipes inspirations cooked this biriyani with chicken I loved this version biryani.
But H and kids are surprised with the dish when I served it.. Because it is different form regular biryani`s and green herbs smell dominates in the biryani..That was the only complaint which I heard from H but I was completely happy with the result of the recipe..I cooked it on dum method and the ingredients are very common.Iam sharing the basic hara masala recipe which is key to this recipe Overall,it is a simple biryani which is perfect for lunch. Cook this and serve hot with lemons and onion slices.

WHAT YOU NEED
Basmati rice or normal rice-2 cups
chicken drumsticks/ leg pieces-10-12
onions-2 medium size
green capsicum-1big
red chilli powder-2tsp or to taste
salt-to taste
turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
curd-1/2 cup
lemon juice-2 tsp
cumin powder-1/2 tsp
coriander powder-1/2 tsp
kasoori methi powder-1 tsp
oil-2 tbsp 
black pepper corns -4
cloves-2-3
cardamoms-2
bay leaf-1 big
To grind masala
fresh mint leaves-handful
fresh coriander leaves-handful

cumin seeds-1 tsp
coconut pieces-1 cup
TO SERVE

round slices of onion-1
lemon wedge-1
any gravy

HOW TO PREPARE


Take handful of mint leaves,handful of cilantro leaves,1 cup of coconut pieces,salt,green chili in mixy jar.Blend until puree and use later.For this recipe I used  1cup of masala.Can refrigerate for 2-3 days.

Wash and soak rice for 30 minutes..Prepare hara masala..Now heat a big vessel with enough water and add in whole spices which mentioned under "oil"..Add rice and cook til done.

Turn on heat under a vessel..Add oil..Fry whole garam masala ingredients+chopped onions,GGP,chopped capsicum.Cook for 2 minutes,add ground masala...Saute well and add chicken..add spice powders like- salt+chilli+turmeric powder,kasoori methi powder..Mix and set it evenly in vessel..
Now add in spice powders like, coriander+cumin+biryani masala,.Stir together.Add in curd+lemon juice and cook for 15 minutes in medium flame until chicken half done..Finally,add cooked rice and add food color.cook on dum for 15 minutes in low flame and turn off.

Serve hot with raita,onion slices and lemon wedges.
