Left Over Idly Lemon Upma | Idli Lemon Upma | Upma With Left Over Idli | Lemon Upma With Idli | Breakfast In 10 Minutes

Idli is south Indians popular breakfast along with dosa..I used to prpeare wheat bread sandwich,home made banana bread for breakfast but now started cooking pure spouth indian breakfasts like idli,upma and paniyaram some times. So,last few days few idlis are left which I refrigerated it..
Next day morning while thinking to use it,got an idea of making upma with those..Immediately applied the idea and the result was so nice.These days this upma became common breakfast in most of the South Indian homes i think.left over idli may not tastes like fresh hot ones,so this kind of upma making is really good idea..Even you can make this Idli upma out of fresh idlis, as it is an interesting alternative to usual  Idli and dosas .I added lemon so named it lemon upma which is totally an optional. It can be used for lunch box or as dinner also will be good.Cook it next time and serve hot.

3 dals dosa
Sooji/rava dosa
Bread dosa
Semiya dosa

4-5 Idlis
carrot  chopped

1/2 tsp turmeric powder
few Coriander leaves
1 tbsp lemon juice 
1 small onions, chopped thinly
Salt to taste
1 tbsp cooking oil
1 tsp mustard seeds
Urad dal (Split black gram)
1 tsp Cumin seeds
4-5 Green chillies or red chili
A dash of hing (asafoetida)
few Curry leaves
1 tsp ginger garlic paste
Using your hand mash idli to crumble it and keep aside..Heat a pan.non stick pan with oil..Add the ingredients which given under Tadka..Saute for few seconds..Add finely chopped onions,ginger garlic paste,saute for a minute until onions turns into light brown.Add finely chopped carrot,little bit of salt. Cook until carrot soft.Then add turmeric mix and add mashed idli mixture.Stir every thing nicely..Cook for 5 minutes with lid in low flame..Turn off,add some cilantro leaves if you like and squeeze lemon juice and serve hot with pickle.
