Sweet potato is nothing but Chilagadadumpa which we call in our telugu language..Generally,Indian type Sweet potatoes are sweet in taste which we people offer to lord shiva along with fruits on Shivaratri time.. Except that festival time I never eat it again in regular days..But after watching it every time in markets I thought to try few dishes with it..Long time back I have posted potato pepper fry in blog so,with that recipe idea I have cooked this and it worked out perfectly.It`s a simple yet spicy stir fry with common spices and it tastes great as a side dish for white rice along with sambar or with curd rice..I boiled the potato bit long time so,it became mushy when I clicked the step wise pictures.So,again second time cooked and clicked the main recipe pictures.instead of regular potato you can try this version and enjoy..

Sweet potatoes-3 medium size
onions-1 medium size
ginger garlic paste(GGP)-1 tsp
mustard seeds-1/2 tsp
cumin seeds-1 tsp
curry leaves-1 sprig
turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
red chilli powder-2 tsp
cilantro(coriander leaves)-few (optional)
coriander+cumin powder-1/2 tsp+1/2 tsp
dry red chili-1 big
urad dal-1 tsp
Wash and peel sweet potato and chop into bite size cubes.. Boil water and place this potato pieces.Boil for 5 minutes in low flame.(Here these boiled lot,so it became mushy.Then I cooked second time and clicked main Recipe Pictures)Drain and keep aside.
Heat a heavy bottomed pan with oil and saute cumin, urad dal,mustard seeds and red chili.Add some hing powder if you like.(I used it)
Now add onions,ginger garlic paste and fry well.Now add salt chili powder,turmeric powder and mix well.Cook for a minute in low flame.Then add boiled potatoes and mix care fully.
Then add cumin+coriander powder and saute once again. Cook it for 2 more minutes.Finally add some fresh cilantro leaves if you have.Serve hot with white rice or curd rice as a side dish.
