Green Gram Masala Curry | Moong Beans Curry Recipe | Green Mung Beans Gravy | Whole Green Mung Dal Recipes | Side dish For Chapathi

Moong beans are also known as green gram or whole moong dal which are indian popular in lentils category..We telugu people makes whole green gram dosa which is commonly known ad pesarattu in our language.It`s a best break fast recipe for us.I have posted already some moong beans recipes and today sharing naother masala curry recipe which is very healthy yet tasty one.
It is an excellent lentil curry made with onion and  tomato puree along with spice powders.Add water depending on curry consistency. Though there are few other traditional dishes can prepare with moong beans,this is the basic yet very easy to prepare and is a great side dish for chapati. Try it by following this easy recipe with step wise pictures.

PREPARATION TIME- 30 MINUTES
COOKING TIME- 30  MINUTES
WHAT YOU NEED
1 cup Whole Green Moong Beans (Soaked & Boiled)
1 medium size onion
1 cup fresh tomato puree
2 tbsp Red chilli powder
1/2 tea spoon Cumin seeds
1 sprig Curry leaves
1/2 tea spoon Garam masala powder
1/2 tea spoon cumin powder
1/2 tea spoon coriander powder
1 tbsp Ginger garlic paste
1 Green Chilli (optional)
1/2 tea spoon Mustard seeds
1/2 tea spoon chana dal
1/2 tea spoon urad dal
2 tbsp Oil
Salt to taste
1/2 tea spoon Turmeric powder
HOW TO COOK
Wash and soak Mung Beans for over night..Next day morning pressure cook the moong dal for 3 whistles or 10 minutes in high flame and keep aside. Heat about 1 tbsp oil in a kadhai and when the oil is hot enough, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, urad dal,chana dal,curry leaves, green chillies and ginger garlic paste, chopped onions and sauté well. Add ground tomato puree and mix well.Cook for 5 minutes in low flame and add turmeric powder,chilli powder and salt.Mix well and add moong beans. To this add around 2 cups of water and sauté well.Cook for 10 minutes in low flame and add garam masala,cumin powder,coriander powder and switch off the flame. Serve the hot dish with chapathi..
