Ingredients:
Potatoes-3 big (boil and use)
Oil- 2 Tablespoons
Channa dal -1 Teaspoon

Cumin seeds-1 tea spoon
Mustard seeds-1 tea spoon
curry leaves-few
hing/asafoetida-1/4 tea spoon
Onion (chopped) 1 medium size
Salt-to taste
Turmeric powder- 1/2 tea spoon
Ginger garlic paste- 1/2 Teaspoon
Tomatoes -2 medium size
Red chilli powder -2 Tea spoons
Tamarind juice- 1/2 Cup
Coriander leaves - 1/4 cup

cumin powder-1/2 tea spoon
coriander powder-1/2 tea spoon
Directions:
1. Heat oil in a pan add cumin seeds,channa dal,mustard seeds,red chili,curry leaves,hing, when channa dal is slightly colored add chopped onions,ginger garlic paste and saute it for 2 minutes. Then add  chopped tomatoes mix well.Now add red chilli powder,salt,turmeric powder add very little water cook this with lid on.Now add tamarind juice and let it boil for 5 minutes.Now add finely chopped /boiled potatoes ,mix well.Cook this for 5 minutes in medium flame.Add cumin+coriander powders to this,mix and cook for 5 more minutes.switch off the flame and let it rest for 2 minutes. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve with rice or chapati or roti.
