Tomato Semiya Upma Recipe | How to make Vermicelli Tomato Bhath | Tomato Vermicelli Bhath | South Indian Breakfast Ideas

Being a vermicelli lover and a food blogger,love to try different recipes every time instead of repeating same old recipes which may boring.. Usually I cook smeiya upma and semiya biryani for dinner.But for a change this time tried pure tomato based semiya upma recipe which is little bit tangy and sweet in taste because of adding only tomatoes.
I also added some tomato puree which gives a nice taste and it`s an optional too. you can roast semiya first,add tomatoes+puree and then add roasted semiya along with water. So,like these in two methods can prepare and tastes great in both ways too.Use green chili instead of dry red chili but quantity is as per your taste.Check out the full recipe and try it next time.

WHAT YOU NEED
oil-2 table spoons
chana dal-1 tea spoon
urad dal-1 tea spoon
dry red chilli-5-6
cumin seeds-1 tea spoon
mustard seeds-1 tea spoon
cashew nuts-6
peanuts (if you like) -fistful
vermicelli/semiya-1 cup
tomatoes-2 medium size
tomato puree -1/3 cup
HOW TO COOK
heat a non stick pan with oil,throw in chana dal,urad dal,dry red chilli,cumin seeds,mustard seeds.Then add cashew nuts,peanuts (if you like) and saute for few seconds.Now add semiya, roast for a minute and add finely chopped  tomatoes,stir gently.Add tomato puree and stir well. Now pour water,add salt and stir gently.Cover with lid and cook for 10 minute sin low flame without disturbing..Then turn off and serve hot..
