Tofu Manchurian Recipe | How to cook Tofu Manchurian | Tofu Recipes | Tofu Starters

Tofu is my favorite food which I love ot cook mostly in gravy forms which can serve with chapathis..Even I hjave posted few different tofu dishes in blog..Coming to this recipe this is one of the good recipe jn appetizers category using tofu,It`s really delicious and little bit time taking to prepare.Using all the three colors bell peppers gives the dish a nice look so final result will be appetizing when you serve..

I was confused between Chilli Tofu Paneer and Tofu Manchurian names but finally one the base of the recipe preparation,named it as Tofu Manchuria.. So,basically, Manhcurian is one of the most popular Indo-Chinese dish in India which you can see in street side shops and restaurants.. You can even replaceTofu paneer and can follow teh same recipe process..When you get Tofu next time, do give a try to this and serve hot.
Tofu Recipes


WHAT YOU NEED

Tofu, cut into cubes - 200 grams
Red Chilli paste or sauce - ½ tsp
Salt - to taste
Cornstarch/Corn flour - 2 table spoons
All purpose flour - 2 table spoons
Water - as needed
Tomato ketchup - 1 tea spoon
Vinegar - 1 tea spoon
MSG - pinch
Salt - to taste
Soya sauce - 1 tbsp
Green chilli sauce - 1 tbsp
Pepper pd - ½ tea spoon
Garlic, chopped - 1 tea spoon
Ginger, chopped - 1 tea spoon
Bell peppers, red, green,yellow - chopped 1 1/2 cups
Onion  - 1 small size
Sugar - pinch
Oil for frying tofu 2 table spoons and 1 table spoon to cook peppers

HOW TO COOK
Method
In a bowl, add some chilli paste, salt, cornstarch, all-purpose flour, little water and make a slightly thick batter. Put in the tofu pieces in this mixture and mix gently to coat all the tofu pieces nicely. Heat oil in a pan and deep fry the tofu pieces until golden in colour and crisp.
For making the slurry, in a bowl add tomato ketchup, vinegar, MSG, salt, soya sauce, red chilli sauce, pepper powder and mix well. Keep this mixture aside.

Heat little oil in a pan and when it's hot, add finely chopped ginger, garlic, green chillies  onions and sauté well. Then add red, green and yellow coloured bell peppers and Slightly sauté and add the slurry, mix and bring to a boil. Add sugar and toss all the ingredients. Finally add the fried tofu and toss well. Serve hot.
