Raw Banana Masala Bajji | Aratikaya Masala Bajji | Deep fried Banana Fritters | South Indian Deep fried Snacks


Bajji is nothing but deep fried spicy snack which is quite popular on the south side of India. That too, especially banana bajji is quite famous in all over the places.Even, sometimes I too get green bananas in my place so I have an option to try those recipes. Though deep fries are oil consuming, it will be fine if you eat ones in a week😛
I have already posted simple banana bajji recipe on the blog but this is totally different from that recipe except for the ingredients list.Generally, I create a collage with stepwise pictures which is easy to upload but today sharing step by step picture. Even I have taken a small video while frying bajjis, so it may take time to upload the complete post. Please be patience and don`t forget to try this version if you love deep fries.Try and have these with a hot cup of chai.Thank you.😊

Green bananas/Raw bananas-3 medium size
Chickpea flour/ besan flour -1 cup
Rice flour-1/4 cup
Roasted chana dal-1/4 cup
Turmeric powder-1/2 teaspoon
Salt-to taste
baking soda-1/2 teaspoon
Red chili powder-1 teaspoon (or as per your taste)
Ajwain seeds/Carom seeds-1 teaspoon
Oil-2 tablespoons

Vegetable oil-1/2 liter
HOW TO COOKsenyumtepuktangan
Take pure green bananas which are hard.Peel skin using a peeler.Cut into lengthwise, slices should be very thin in size.keep them in water bowl until use. Grind roasted chana dal into a fine powder.
Now take chickpea flour in a bowl, add rice flour, turmeric powder, salt, soda,  red chili powder, ajwain seeds and mix well.
Now add water slowly and make it like a thick batter. Heat oil in kadai for deep frying. Now in a plate take a little bit of red chili powder, salt and mix well.Coat banana slices in this, then dip in flour batter on two sides and fry in hot oil.
Keep the flame in medium and fry carefully by turning both sides. When the color of the bajji looks light brown in color take them on a paper towel to remove the excess of oil.
repeat this with remaining slices and serve hot with hot tea/chai.
