Paramannam is nothing but Pongal in English which is cooked with rice and jaggery.It is one of the famous sweet which south Indians prefers to cook on festival times. This paramannam is very tasty because it is completely cooked with milk and very less water.senyum
 Also, ghee and dry fruits make it more delicious. I have already posted sweet Pongal recipe on the blog and this is with coconut milk addition. This Pongal is simple to cook, tastes so good with nice coconut milk flavor.Try this version next time and serve warm or cold.celebrate

PREPARATION TIME- 20 MINUTES
COOKING TIME- 20-30 MINUTES
WHAT YOU NEED
Rice-1 cup
Chana dal-1/2 cup
Jaggery/Bellam-1 cup
Ghee-2-4 tablespoons
Milk-1 cup
Coconut milk-1/2 cup
Dry Coconut flakes-2 tablespoons (optional)
Cardamom powder-1 teaspoon
Dry fruits:
Cashews+almonds+Raisins-5+5+5

HOW TO COOKtepuktangan
Wash rice twice and soak for 30 minutes. Wash and soak chana dal for 15-20 minutes. 
Heat a vessel add 1 tablespoon ghee, fry chana dal for a minute on low heat, then add rice and mix well.
Now add milk, 1/4 cup of water mix gently and cook on medium flame until rice cook soft. 
Now add coconut milk, stir gently.After 5 minutes add jaggery and stir well.Keep the flame low always.
Now heat another pan with ghee, roast dry fruits, add this in Pongal, also add coconut flakes, cardamom powder stir everything and turn off. 
Before serving,  add a tablespoon ghee on top and serve hot.
