Garlic Dal Recipe | Lasooni Dal Tadka Recipe | How to make Garlic Dal Fry | Dal Recipes

Dal is one of the comfort food which goes well with white rice, Chapathi or rotis.. This is one of the famous dal called as "Lasooni dal fry" which most of the north Indians prefers to cook. It is a simple recipe which doesn`t need much time at the same time tastes so good when you serve hot.
You can find the step wise pictures in the below which helps you to give a try. I was bit confused to write a proper name for pictures because can call this as Garlic dal fry also tadka dal or even can say garlic sambar. So, though the names sounds different recipe method is same.Actually, this post is in draft from last year and finally got time to share it now with you all. WHAT YOU NEED
Toor dal -3/4 cup
garlic cloves-6-8 no
Vegetable Oil-2 tablespoons
Red chili powder-1 teaspoon
Salt-to taste
Sambar powder-1 teaspoon
Coriander leaves-few
Tadka ingredients
Mustard seeds-1 teaspoon
Cumin seeds-1 teaspoon
Uraddal-1 teaspoon\
Chanadal-1 teaspoon\
Curryleaves-few
Dry red chili-1
Hing/Asafoetida-1/4 teaspoon
HOW TO COOK
Wash and soak dal for 15 minutes in 2 cups of water then pressure cook with 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder,1 teaspoon oil for 10-15 minutes in complete low flame and turn off.
Peel skin and chop garlic cloves finely.Now heat a nonstick pan with oil,throw in tadka ingredients and saute for half minute in low flame.
Then add chopped garlic and saute for half minute in low flame. Now add cooked dal,mix once.
Add in red chili powder,salt,sambar powder and stir gentlly. Cover with lid, cook for 5 minutes and turn off.Add coriander leaves,stir gently.Serve hot with rice or chapati.
