Baking a cake for kids birthday is always fun and my most favourite job. This was the birthday cake which I tried a few years back. I was with full of confidence about this cake while trying, even got the perfect shape but while piping the purple lines, my hands started shivering which made the cake look dull. I was disappointed after watching the imperfect look so dropped to share it in the blog. Then on the same day, I baked this another cake (below picture) and frosted with vanilla buttercream.
This recipe is in the blog from last 4 years and every time I am postponing it to share because of shy feeling but later on, I thought, though the final look wasn`t good the step by step pictures may help if anyone is interested to try Spiderman cake. For this cake, I followed the Brasil chocolate cake recipe for this spiderman cake and simple vanilla buttercream for frosting by adding red colour. Here I am sharing step by step pictures of making Spiderman shape and frosting making stepwise pictures. If you are interested to make Spiderman cake this step by step pictures helps you definitely. But be patient while frosting and especially while drawing lines. Hope you like it and share comments if you like and try the recipe.

What you need 
vanilla frosting
piping bags
food colours
How to Make Spiderman Cake
Mix all the cake ingredients in a bowl, pour into a rectangular shaped cake tin or an ovenproof glass bowl. Bake for 40-45 minute sat 200 degrees centigrade and rest the cake at room temperature.
Draw spiderman face inA4 size paper and put it on the cake and start cutting the cake from sides. Carefully remove the edges parts of the cake and check it out whether you got the face shape of a cake or not. I got a well-shaped cake here.

1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 tablespoons milk
2-3 pinches yellow, red and purple food colors
4   cups powdered sugar
200 grams butter or margarine, softened
How to make frosting: In a medium bowl, beat butter first for few seconds, mix powdered sugar. Beat using an electric mixer on low speed. Stir in vanilla and 1 tablespoon of the milk.  

Gradually beat in just enough remaining milk to make frosting smooth and spreadable. If frosting is too thick, beat in more milk, a few drops at a time. If frosting becomes too thin, beat in a small amount of powdered sugar. Frost cake generously.

Then by following the recipe of vanilla buttercream make it and separate one cup of buttercream.  To the remaining frosting add red colour and frost the cake two times. Using the toothpick draw the lines on the cake. Use 2-3 tablespoon of plain buttercream for eyes part. to the remaining buttercream add purple colour and using a piping bag draw the lines on the cake. With the same piping, bag frosting write the name carefully.

On the same day baked another cake, prepared yellow coloured buttercream and using a rose nozzle decorated the cake like this. This was my first attempt and got a nice rose flower swirls on the cake.
