Hi....Friends.....How are you all..........Iam back today with easy vesy recipe which takes only 15-20 minutes time to prepare with simple ingredients.....It is very easy to cook and tastes good too....
Cooking for kids is a very very difficult part for a MOM..Every day when I enters into the kitchen I thinks about my DH first. Then second I go for my son.We are the 4 persons in home with complete different food habits.Especially coming to the kids I always wonders how these both boys are opposite in each and every one....First coming to the Mahadev..He is simple, calm, very sensitive and eats every thing except food which contains sugar..But Mahadhip who is just 1.4 and have his particular tastes in eating.Yes..He is very sharp and veryyy stubborn. If ones he rejects to eat I have to stop over there.
As we all know Lentils are very healthy for kids to grow...Twice in a week I pressure cook dal for my kids..This is the first time I added some paneer cubes for a change. And dal came out really yummy..I was happy that my idea was worked out and Kids also satisfied with taste..So,I thought to share with you all....Check out for complete list and let me know how it is friends?.......
PREPARATION TIME-20 MINUTES
COOKING TIME-25 MINUTES
SERVES-3-4
Ingredients
Toor dal/kandi pappu-3/4-1 cup
paneer packet-100gms
onion-1small
tomato-1small
ginger garlic paste/GGP-1tsp
red chilli powder-1tsp
turmeric powder-1tsp
salt-to taste
coriander powder-1/2tsp
cumin-1tsp
mustard seeds-1/2tsp
hing-3 pinches
ghee-1tsp
cilantro/kottimeera-few leaves
Preparation
Chop the paneer into bite size pieces and keep aside........Chop onion and tomatoes too....
Wash and soak dal for 20 minutes and pressure cook along with paneer for 3whistles......
Heat a kadai with ghee and add mustard, cumin, hing, curry leaves and fry for half minute.
Add in chopped onion, tomato and GGP and stir it once..Add in powders and cook (salt, chilli powder, turmeric and corinader) til soft and mushy..
Now add in pressure cooked dal-paneer and mix well every thing.....Finally cook this for 3 more minutes and add freshly chopped cilantro.....
Add a spoon of ghee on top and serve with rice n papad..........
MY NOTES
If you are lazy to cook just mix the onions, tomatoes, spices powders along with dal and paneer and pressure cook......Prepare the temper separately and in dal......
Can skip coriander powder and replace it with 1/4 tsp fresh garam masala.
You can try this with tofu instead of paneer.I hope it works out..Can replace toor dal with moong dal too.
Add only ghee not oil.....
Fry the onions and tomatoes add in pressure cooked dal and give a temper separately and add in dal. Some times I go in this way........
Mixing Paneer in toor dhal sounds new n interesting, loved ur version!!!
