Coconutmilk Pulao Recipe | Plain Pulao With Coconutmilk | Pulao Recipes | One Pot Meals For Lunch/Lunch Box

I have shared some recipes using coconut milk like vegetable pulao, chicken gravy, coconut milk using desserts, biriyani before in blog but haven`t posted a recipe called coconut milk pulao like this before.senyum By mixing veggies along with coconut milk made pulao but this is completely different from that. This is a basic plain pulao recipe using thick store-bought milk and basmati rice.sengihnampakgigi
I have given step by step pictures and method of cooking which helps you to try. You can even use fresh homemade coconut milk to cook this pulao if you like. This simple pulao is not only easy to cook but also tastes so good when you serve hot with gravies along with raita.tepuktangan I served with khatta mutton and mint raita.
NOTE: I  cook with approximate measurements so please make sure the ingredients quantities before using. As per you/your family taste use the spices.menari

oil-2 tablespoons
onion-1 medium size
 ginger garlic paste-1 teaspoon
tomato-1 small 
green chillis-6-8 (as per your taste)
 turmeric powder-1/2 teaspoon
water-1 1/4 cups
Coriander(cilantro), mint leaves -2 handfuls
Thick Coconut milk-1 cup
Basmati rice-1 cup
Salt-to taste
whole garammasala ingredients 
Cinnamon stick-2" inch
Bay leaf-1 no
Green Cardamom pod-1
Cumin seeds-1 teaspoon
Star anise-1 flower
Javithri-1 small 
1.Heat a vessel with oil. add in whole garammasala ingredients one by one, saute for few seconds in low flame.
2.Then add finely chopped onions, ginger garlic paste and saute for a minute in medium flame.
3. Now add finely chopped tomatoes, green chillis, mix well and cook for a minute.
4. Add turmeric powder, stir gently and add water. Throw in coriander, mint leaves and mix once.
5.Then add coconut milk, and let it boil. When it starts boiling add rice, stir gently and cook in medium flame.
6.When the water evaporates completely keep tawa/heavy nonstick pan in the bottom of the rice vessel, keep the flame in low and cook for 5-8 minutes then turn off.
7. Serve hot with any gravy and raita.
