A pound cake was originally made with four pounds of ingredients but nowadays no one using pounds and ounces measurements except cups and teaspoons.
Two weeks back I have posted vanilla pound cake recipe on my blog, the result of that recipe influenced me to try one more so, this is the another pound cake which I tried out again with different measurements.This is a good tasting pound cake and so easy you won't believe it. This pound cake is tender inside and a lot of crunches outside. I know you'll love it and reach for this recipe every time. Try next time and have fun.

1 cup butter, softened (2 sticks)
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 cups all-purpose flour (sift first then measure)
5 large eggs at room temperature
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons milk


1.Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy
2.Add the room temp. eggs one at a time - incorporate well (about 1 minute after each egg)
3.Add vanilla extract and incorporate well.
4.Finally, add the flour, baking powder, soda, salt and beat for a minute again on low speed.
5.Then add milk and let all this beat a minute or two.
6.Pour into a greased and floured bundt or bread loaf pan and bake at 180 degrees C for an hour.
7.Each oven is different so, keep an eye after 50 minutes, check out with a toothpick if it comes out with butter bake for 15-20 minutes more.
8.But start checking for doneness after an hour and ten minutes again.
9.Finally, when the baking is done perfectly, turn off oven and let cool for 10 minutes and remove from pan onto a cooling rack.
10.When cool enough cut and serve with a cup of milk or coffee. enjoy!!
