Most of the time  I prefer to cook curries or gravies with mutton. But last few days back thought to try dry curries so this is in one of them. It`s the dish with the onion base and there are no other ingredients like tomatoes or coconut.
Use boneless mutton for this dry curry which takes a short time to cook. Along with onions fry some cashews, grind then use in the dish. Because of frying mutton turns into light brown in colour but it tastes so good when you serve hot. Try this and serve with pulao, bagara rice or roti.

In a mixing bowl, take red chilli powder, salt, turmeric powder, garam masala, cumin powder, coriander powder, yoghurt, lemon juice, ginger garlic paste, Kasuri methi and mix well.
Add washed mutton and mix well. Let it rest for 1-2 hours. Heat a pressure cooker with oil, add mutton, 2 cups of water and pressure cook for 20 minutes in medium flame and turn off.
Another side, heat a non-stick pan with 2 tablespoons of oil, add chopped onions and fry for 2 minutes in medium flame then grind into a fine paste.
Now heat the same vessel again, add oil. When the oil is hot, add the whole garam masala ingredients, saute for few seconds.
Now add cooked mutton, with mutton stew (cooked mutton gravy), mix gently and add ground onion paste. Cook for 10 minutes in low flame, add coriander leaves and stir gently. Turn off and serve hot.
