chicken heart curry recipe | pressure cooked chicken heart curry | chicken hearts recipes

Chicken hearts are low in calories and high in protein also both of my sons favourite food. So, I cook curry like this for them often but when I came to know that chicken hearts are high in cholesterol started avoiding as much as possible.
Here in my place, in chicken tikka style, people make grilled chicken hearts which is a famous roadside food.  If you like chicken hearts try this simple pressure cooked curry, it tastes good with rice and chapati too.

CATEGORY- chicken | curry | gravy | non-vegetarian
oil- 2-3 tablespoons
finely chopped onions- 1 cup
ginger garlic paste-1 tablespoon
tomato puree-1/2 cup
red chilli powder- 2 teaspoons
salt to taste
turmeric powder-1/2 teaspoon 
chicken hearts-200 grams
garam masala-1 teaspoon
coriander powder-1/2 teaspoon
cumin powder-1/2 teaspoon
dry Kasuri methi-1 teaspoon
yoghurt-1/2 cup
whole garam masala ingredients
cumin seeds-1 teaspoon
bay leaf-1 no
green cardamom pods-1 no
star anise-1 no
cinnamon stick-2 "inch

Heat a pressure cooker with oil, add whole garam masala ingredients, fry for a few seconds. Then add finely chopped onions, ginger garlic paste and saute for 2 minutes on low heat.
When the onions turn light brown in colour, add tomato puree. Stir well and cook for 2 minutes at low flame.
Then add red chilli powder, salt, turmeric powder and mix well. After a few seconds add finely washed chicken hearts, mix well and cook for 5 minutes.
Then add garam masala, coriander powder, cumin powder, dry Kasuri methi and mix well. Cook for 5 minutes, add yoghurt, mix gently. Now add 2 cups of water and pressure cook for 20 minutes at medium flame. Turn off then serve later with chapati or rice.
