Iam cooking quinoa in different ways,this time created a sweet with vermicelli combination..It is like kheer/payasam replaced sugar with condensed milk.Yes...in this payasam recipe did n`t used jaggery or white sugar,but stillit tasted good because of condensed milk..You can call this like pudding if you want instead of kheer name.
What I want trying to say is,condensed milk is a very helpful stuff to use some times when you need replacement..I have 1 cup of quinoa and 1/2 cup of vermicelli in cupboard.First thought to make a simple semiya payasam which can enjoy after lunch,but later after,got an idea of using both to make some dessert..Making  this kind of desserts is really fun,all you need is some creativeness,imagination of the recipe result and foodie heart specially.Though can use jaggery/sugar in this, for an experiment I used condensed milk and it tasted really so good and deliciousso if you like can replace condensed milk with sugar or jaggery ..Serve this after lunch or you can make any time,even in festival times.All you need is milk,quinoa,semiya,condensed milk and some nuts for rich taste..Even for kids also it`s a good recipe to give after returning from school.Next time when you get quinoa try this simple dessert and enjoy..

PREPARATION TIME- 30 MINUTES
COOKING TIME- 15 MINUTES



WHAT YOU NEED

milk-3 cups (I used 3%fat milk)
cooked quinoa-1 cup
vermicelli/semiya-1/2 cup
condensed milk -1 cup
cashewnuts,almonds/raisins-fistful (5+5+5)
cardamom powder-1 tsp
ghee-1 tbsp

HOW TO COOK

Cook quinoa according to packet instructions.keep this aside.Dry roast semiya in a pan.

Boil milk in vessel,add in semiya and quinoa and mix well..put it in low flame,stir in between to avoid sticking in the bottom of the vessel.

After 10 minutes add in condensed milk and stir for 5 minutes.On other side in a small pan roast nuts in ghee and pour it in kheer vessel.Throw some cardamom powder if you have which gives a ncie flavor..Turn off and serve hot or cold.
